The German Army Trainer was originally introduced in the 1980's, during the cold war era, made for military fitness training. Since the end of the cold war this style has become a European menswear staple. A true classic.

Novesta was one of the original suppliers of the German Army Trainer, and their version of the GAT remains authentic. Made with the original outsoles from the late 80's, and traditional detailing and construction.

Novesta is one of the few remaining European shoe brands that still have their full production in Europe, in their original factory founded in 1939 in the small Slovakian town of Partizánske.

Novestas fit larger than many brands. Most customers prefer to size their GATs down half a size compared to regular shoes. Size down if you are in between sizes.
